What make Step Ones special?
We believe we’ve created some underwear that’s pretty darn special. Here’s why:
Step One’s are designed to stop chafing in its tracks. The Ultraglyde™ panels between the legs allow you to glide when you walk and prevent the dreaded ride-up while they’re at it!
Step One’s are also made from Viscose derived from Organically Grown Bamboo. So not only are they good for you, but it’s also good for the planet!
We are so confident you'll love your Step One underwear, they come with a 30-day First Pair Guarantee, so if you don’t love them... they're free!
What's the First Pair Guarantee?
With our First Pair Guarantee, you can buy a pair with confidence, knowing that if the fit or style isn't quite right, we'll either refund your purchase or swap it for a new size. If you’ve bought multiple items, you can return any that are still sealed and unopened. Just choose the size or style you’d prefer from the same range (men’s to men’s or women’s to women’s), and we’ll handle the exchange for you.
What is your warranty policy?
We stand by what we make. For this reason, we offer a 12-month warranty on all manufacturer defects. The 12-month period starts on the date of purchase. If a First Pair Guarantee or exchange takes place, the warranty is covered from the date of the original purchase.
You are required to keep the original faulty items for the warranty period and if requested, return them to us via mail, in the instance we are required to return them to our supplier. Step One reserves the absolute right to not replace items if we believe they have been used in extraordinary situations or they have deliberately been tampered with.
Step Ones are designed to be worn the correct way, wearing them inside out will void any warranty claims as this creates excessive wearing on the stitching as it's designed to be worn on the outside of the garment. Please note: wearing our product in water (both salt and chlorine) will also void the warranty.
If there's a problem, please contact us on info@stepone.life or slide into our DMs and we will advise you of the steps to replace any faulty garments.
Please note for all warranty claims the garments will either need to be returned to Step One, or photographic evidence will need to be sent to us prior to being issued any replacements (but please, keep it PG people! This is a workplace!)
All Flag labels must be intact for a warranty claim. The Flag Label can be found on the front of the garment that would normally sit on the right thigh.
No garment manufacturer in the world will offer a 100% quality rate, but we do try really hard! There will be the odd defect, but, take a deep breath, it's OK, we will replace it! Just hit us up on socials or email us!
What size am I?
Our size guides will be on each product page, as each product has a slightly different fit to each other.
Your Step One underwear should feel comfortable and secure in all the right places, but not restrict your precious goods at all!
Our men's range does run on the smaller size so if you prefer the underwear to fit slightly less tight, then pick a size up!
How do I care for my Step Ones?
We recommend a cold machine wash with a gentle soap to best maintain the integrity of the organic bamboo fabric. While we do recommend a line dry, you can tumble dry using a delicate setting and/or a low heat to prevent any damage to the garment.
What's the difference between Boxer Brief's and Trunks?
The only difference between the two is that Boxer Briefs have 3 cm more leg length than the trunks.
Womens Range
Do the women's boxers have the same features as the men’s boxers?
Pretty much, minus the pouch of course! The women's boxers feature our anti-chafe panels, and super soft and moisture-wicking viscose bamboo material
What is women’s boxer sizing like?
Slightly more form-fitting which will give a figure-hugging feel. They are designed to enhance your individual shape with the perfect fit and cut. We do recommend going up a size should you find yourself to be in-between sizes. If you have tried our Men’s Boxer Briefs, we suggest you go up one size.
Are they shapewear?
Not exactly. Although the fit and style have been designed to support your body, they aren’t shapewear as such. Our women’s underwear is designed to be worn as exactly that - underwear. Although some women enjoy wearing them as loungewear around the house too.
Are they see-through?
This depends on the shade. As with most fabrics, lighter colours tend to have a degree of transparency. If you’re after a more non-transparent pair of underwear, best stick to the darker colours.
Are they static?
Nope. Our underwear is made from Viscose which is derived from Bamboo. Bamboo is a natural fibre that possesses anti-static properties.
Can I wear pads/liners with these?
Absolutely! This particular style works best with liners without wings. Please keep in mind that your Lady Steps can take a few washes before liners stick to them!
Do they have a gusset?
Yes, our women’s underwear is double lined with a gusset made of the same, soft organic fabric that’s made from Viscose derived from Bamboo.

Where are they made?
Our products are designed at our HQ in Sydney, Australia. Our garments are produced in ethically certified factories across Asia.
What are your ethical certifications?
We take being ethical seriously. Ethics are at the forefront of every decision made here at Step One, from the Sydney office, to the bamboo forests!
All Step One Factories are either BSCI or SA8000 accredited which means: Fair Wages · No Child Labour · Fair Working Conditions · No Forced Labour.

Shipping & Returns
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! - Unfortunately, we cannot provide free shipping on all International Orders. However, we advise the pricing and estimated delivery times on checkout.
Step One orders may be subject to import taxes or inspections by the local customs service. These are usually based on the country you are shipping to and are unique to that country.
If items ordered via our website are over a set value by your local authorities, additional taxes may apply. Step One does NOT set these tax limits or apply them in any way and unfortunately we cannot pre-pay or calculate these taxes for you.
How long will my order take to arrive?
Free shipping is available on all orders in Australia! We aim to dispatch your order 1-3 business days after placing your order. Rates and estimated delivery times are below:

What can I do if I want to return/exchange a product?
It's easy as! Reach out to us via our contact us page here to initiate the returns/exchange process.
Can I change or cancel my order?
We aim to dispatch orders as soon as possible, so it might be too late. The best thing to do here is reach out to us as soon as possible here.
