Odour can happen when menstrual blood, which contains iron and proteins, mixes with oxygen and the natural bacteria on your skin over time.

Our Step One Period Underwear is made with breathable bamboo viscose and a built-in absorbent layer that is naturally antibacterial and moisture-wicking. It helps to keep things fresh and dry throughout the day.

If you do notice a bit of scent, here is how to reset them easily:

1. Rinse soon after wear: Rinse in cold water to remove excess blood. Avoid hot water as it can set stains and odours.
2. Optional vinegar soak: Mix one part white vinegar with three parts water and soak for up to 20 minutes to neutralise odour.
3. Wash cold and gentle: Use a mild detergent on a cold wash cycle. You can add a splash of vinegar, about one part to five parts water, for extra freshness.
4. Air dry fully: Hang dry in sunlight or in a well-ventilated space. Make sure they are completely dry before storing.

With regular care, your Step Ones will stay soft, fresh, and odour-free, just like your favourite everyday underwear, only smarter.

Once your Period Underwear is completely dry, you can store it just like your regular underwear. However, make sure it is fully dry before putting it away, as any leftover moisture can affect the fabric and absorbent layers over time.

We recommend keeping them in a clean, dry drawer away from damp spaces like the bathroom. If you want to be extra careful, you can fold them neatly or store them in a small fabric pouch or drawer divider, just as you would your delicates.
